Today each class learned a small dance along with the skills we are working on. We have some hard workers at CSOD! We couldn't have asked for a better first day! Myself and the teachers were thrilled to see such happy faces on a rainy Saturday morning. This was just the beginning of a fun filled year ahead! Our Saturday teachers are eagerly awaiting our first day of dance tomorrow! We can't wait to see everyone's smiling faces at our new facility. We will be posting on our Blog weekly to show everyone what we have been up to at CSOD. Cheers to a great year of dance ahead!
"Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory". Looking back on my countless years dancing at CSOD, this quote could not be more true. At the time everything seemed just like a regular old day, spending all my extra time at the studio was just what I did. But looking back on it, it was then that many of my most cherished memories were made. Growing with your friends in the studio, accomplishing your goals together and picking each other up when you're down. Having countless laughs and jokes with one another , and also sharing heartfelt moments. It's these things that seem so little at the time, but that impact your life in the biggest ways imaginable. The friends you make here are lifelong, the bond you make is unbreakable. I think it's important for all of you dancers to take a moment, just pause and look around. Appreciate where you are and what you're doing. The years go by way too fast, so live in the moment and appreciate how blessed you all are to be doing what you love with those whom you love. You might not know it now, but you're making memories here at the studio that will last a lifetime. Make everyday count, and most importantly smile and enjoy yourselves. You're all beautiful inside and out, and I feel very blessed to be making these memories with you.
It's that time of year again here at CSOD! For our competitive students, it's time to kick it into gear and finish the final touches for our upcoming competitions! For our recreational students, it's time to start working on recital routines and getting ready for our year end show! As teachers we are so excited to see our students working hard towards an end goal. Whether it's a placing at a competion or getting that perfect pirouette in their jazz class for our recital! We love to watch the determination and persistence of the CSOD dancers! Looking forward for what's to come at CSOD in 2015!!
Hey! My name is Bailey Szabo and I have been dancing at the Caledonia studio of dance ever since I was 4 years old. I joined the competitive dance team when I was in grade 4. Attending the studio almost every day for the last 13 years has inspired me to grow not only as a dancer, but as a person. The studio has become my second home. Throughout the years I have made so many amazing friendships with my fellow dancers, and also my dance teachers! This year is my graduating year for high school which means my last year dancing at CSOD. This dance season is going to be very emotional for all us graduates. I wish everyone luck this comp season. I would also like to say have as much fun as possible and work hard because your last year sure does sneak up on you! I came across a great article today that I had to share. Hope you enjoy! March means the beginning of "Comp Season" and costumes, rhinestones, feathers and fishnets start to surface. It is what our Competitive Dancers live for, train for and work for. Here is a great article I found about what is involved in joining a Comp Team :)
I came across a great article that I wanted to share with all my dancers. Who doesn't want to jump higher? Once you finish reading, head over to your local grocery store and start practicing! |
